ICE! at Gaylord Palms ~ 2016

It’s become one of our family traditions at this time of the year to head over to the Gaylord Palms Resort and check out ICE! This is literally two-million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures that we can walk through to a different holiday theme each year. There are also ice slides and the whole scene tells a cute story. Not to mention, the attraction is kept at a super cool NINE degrees!! BBRR!!

You can see our fun from last year HERE.

We were so excited to go this year, as it featured A Charlie Brown Christmas. This is one of our childhood favorites, and of course, now one of Liam’s ❤

img_0609

img_0611

As we waited in line to enter the exhibit, the staff member literally reviewed this with us. Seriously, this was hilarious!! 🙂

img_0608

The details in the ice sculptures are just mind blowing. While the chilly temps will literally, at first, take your breath away, lol….walking around looking at these beauties will, too! So, so pretty!!

img_0612

While we laughed at being told not to touch the ice, little man kept asking to touch it…I mean, look at it….for a kid, even for us….you really do just want to reach out & touch it!

img_0613

They did such an awesome job of capturing all of our favorites moments from the Charlie Brown Christmas special. LOVE IT!!

img_0623

This was the ice slide room! Super fun!!

img_0625

Schroeder!!

img_0624

Linus …and he was holding a real blanket ❤

img_0627

Both Liam & Stephen went down the slides (there were four). My hands were so cold that my phone didn’t register my fingerprints to take the video & it messed up (such a bummer). While I was waiting for them to slide down, another lady’s phone froze….THAT’s how cold it was in there! Really!! So, here’s a screen shot of when I tried to 1st start the video 🙂

img_0771

Say cheese! …It’s the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree!

img_0632

We were seriously just so in love with all of these vibrant colors & details!

Once again, the last room was the Nativity Scene, and it was breathtaking ❤

Such a fun-filled family day!

Priceless Memories ~ Family Pictures 2016

Last month, we got together, once again, with our favorite photographer, Dawn Geraghty, for our annual family pictures session. As always, she did not disappoint with the amazing shots  & moments she captured of our little family.

We love working with the natural light & elements outdoors, and Dawn does a fantastic job of capturing that vision. We are also just absolutely blown away by how much Liam has grown since last year. That is one of the main reason’s why I ensure we do these pictures annually because our little man is definitely changing right before our eyes. I want to capture every moment that I can ❤

familypicbanner1

You can contact Dawn at: dawngeraghtyphotography@aol.com // facebook: Dawn Geraghty Photography // http://www.dawngphoto.com/

img_8495

We were anticipating this would be a fab session, so while we had his Kindergarten pics taken with his school, we really didn’t invest in a package with them. Instead, Dawn captured this image & it really show’s Liam’s true personality…..

img_8466

Total silliness but LOVE it ❤

img_8543

And, some more gorgeous updated shots ….

December 2016

It’s Christmas Time!

As we wrap up this 1st full week of December, I am definitely feeling the Christmas spirit all around. Maybe part of it is because decorations have been out in the stores since August….#kiddingnotkidding

No, but really, we were completely excited to break out the holiday decor as soon as we wrapped up Thanksgiving. It was a busy weekend after coming home from my dad’s for Turkey Day, so it took us a bit longer than I had planned to get everything up, but the house is looking festive now ❤ …Of course, the kitty is keeping us VERY busy with his mischief & antics with the Christmas tree.

******************************************

Last week, we kicked off the season with our annual Gingerbread Decorating Party. This is always a great time with our friends. A few of us girls gathered together a couple nights before the party to put all the houses together & have a few laughs 🙂

img_0462

Liam was excited to get to work on his house. It was hard to even snap some of the pics this year because almost every time you asked him to stop and ‘say cheese’…he would reply with “I can’t, I’m busy.” …hilarious!

img_0468

I might have bribed him to get this pic ❤

img_0471

This was his, ‘can I eat another piece of candy?’ face 🙂

img_0475

He wanted to spread the icing himself this year and he picked out all the candies. He’s getting to be so big and he’s very creative. He also knows exactly how he wants things to be & look.

img_0479

Finished!

img_0477

And, of course, as soon as the kiddos wrapped up, the big kids jumped in. Lisa & Stephen have gotten very serious about their joint decorating adventure over the last few years. It’s quite amusing!

img_0483

We joked around this year that this party is going to turn into the kids just playing & only the adults decorating houses. Hahaha!

img_0484

I have to say that their house turned out pretty amazing! They were impressed with themselves, too, as you can see from their pic below 🙂

img_0485

The Bengel’s neighborhood has a cool Santa that comes by, and the night of our party was actually the night he came! It was SO exciting for everyone.

img_0490

We grabbed all the kids really quick and headed out front. Santa came up the driveway, greeted everyone, and gave each kiddo a little box filled with small trinkets & candy. It was so sweet ❤

img_0493

Afterwards, we headed inside & had our gift exchange for the kids with a few of our friends.

img_0488

Liam was stoked — he got his 1st NERF gun! ….P.S., Daddy was too 😉

img_0487

We’ve really enjoyed attending our new church home this past year, as I’ve mentioned in past posts. It’s such a blessing to share a deeper learning and understanding  of the Advent season with Liam.

We had a guest speaker, Brad Gray, last Sunday for the 1st of a two-part series about the meaning of Advent. Let me tell you ….it was so good!! He covered so much education & history about the Bible and what was happening in the world at the time of Jesus’ birth. I honestly had no idea. I can’t wait to hear the rest of his message this weekend!

It’s called the Fullness of Time and I highly recommend you take a listen, as it’s available online HERE

nugt6431

Sunday morning, before church, Liam popped up & immediately declared he had to write his letter to Santa. So, that’s what we did ❤
img_0499

Had to grab a pic of these two putting the star on top of the tree 🙂

img_0440

It felt good to finally have the house decorated by the end of the week. This pic is kinda dark, but the living room looks so cozy with just the glow of the Christmas lights & the fireplace.

img_0513

Some of our other decorations….and Christmas cookies about to bake!

img_0510

Can’t forget the outside decor, too!

img_0432

And, this gem! If you read my last post, you know we went to see the big guy last month, so I’ve been saving this for awhile now. We LOVE our Santa at our local mall. Liam was a little nervous again this year, but he went up to him without any forcing. He asked him for Hot Wheels. Afterwards, you could see the excitement in his eyes, and he said to me, ‘that wasn’t bad at all‘.

2016-11-12_santa-pic

We have a lot to look forward to this month & much to share! This is truly a magical time. Especially when you share it through the eyes of a child. Hope that your Christmas season is off to a fantastic start, as well!

 Until next time, friends!

Thanksgiving Wrap-Up

Happy Thanksgiving! Our pastor said the following sentiment at church on the Sunday before turkey day, and I thought it so appropriate & super cute…..

We hope you & your family had a holiday weekend filled with the five F’s:

FAITH

FAMILY

FRIENDS

FOOD

FOOTBALL

charlie-brown-thanksgiving

We took a road trip for the holiday & headed up to Jacksonville to my dad & stepmom’s. Keeping with tradition, we kicked off our morning with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was so cool that this year’s parade was it’s 90th anniversary!

2016-11-24_thanksgiving-1

He drives us nuts at times, as any 5 year old does, but this boy is the most loving kid ever. Definitely take pause on this day to celebrate just how blessed and thankful our family is. There is MUCH to be thankful for each and EVERY day….all the little things that we all too often take for granted.

As I look back on year’s past pics — HERE , HERE , and HERE ….I am amazed at just how much Liam has grown. Especially since last year. What a growth spurt! His little baby face has changed so much ❤ …definitely tugs on this mama’s heart strings.

2016-11-24_thanksgiving-5

These two silly boys 🙂 …They were permanent begging buddies in the kitchen. Hilarious!

2016-11-24_thanksgiving-2

Cooking up some yumminess in the kitchen! Almost time to eat!

2016-11-24_thanksgiving-3

We had a great spread for our Thanksgiving Day meal — all the traditional trimmings, and including both a turkey and a ham. Stephen helped with keeping an eye on the ham, which we cooked on the grill. So tasty! Liam even helped baste it at the end.

2016-thanksgiving-collage

The day after Thanksgiving, we took full advantage of living in the Sunshine State and went for a walk on the beach. It was a little cool but definitely refreshing. We even took the dogs with us, and Timber had a ball! It was his 1st time with his paws in the sand in years ❤

2016-11-25_thanksgiving-weekend-1

Timber followed Stephen out to the sandbar and then swam back to me. So cute!

2016-11-25_thanksgiving-weekend-7

Buddies! 🙂

2016-11-25_thanksgiving-weekend-10

We headed home on Saturday. I had full intentions on putting away the Thanksgiving decor and putting up ALL the Christmas. LOL! — it was a good plan. It ended up taking me most of the week but no worries.

What was super fun was that Mr. Elf flew back to see us from the North Pole on Saturday night! Liam woke up to him hanging out here on Sunday morning ❤

He brought him some new pj’s and some candy. More about that next time!

2016-11-27_mr-elf-returns-2

It was a great weekend, overall. We hope you all had a restful & fun holiday weekend, as well.

thankful

We are THANKFUL you have taken the time to stop by our little spot on this great big cyberspace.

Until next time, friends!

November Highlights

November is not quite done yet, and we’ve had a ton of fun! Here’s a peak at what we’ve been up to lately….

We just wrapped up Liam’s 2nd Healthy Kids Running Series race season. He aged into another group this year that put him into the 1/4 mile race as opposed to the 50-yard dash, so it was definitely more challenging for him, but he gave it 110% & was amazing! He had done the 1st series back in Spring 2015 and enjoyed the experience so much that he wanted to give it another go around. I will admit that I thought the 1/4 was a a lot for the kinders to do, but he did it every week. We continue to be SO VERY proud of this little dude! He is a special little guy ❤

img_0258

Little man recently began taking weekly martial arts classes with Victory Martial Arts. We really love their facility & all the staff there. In addition to the fact that they are teaching him martial arts, they also teach the kids self-respect, self-discipline, good behavior, and good-manners. He’s already earned a stripe on his white belt and is up for a belt promotion next month. We’ll keep you posted! 🙂

img_0261

Liam had his 1st elementary school field trip, which coincidentally was on Veteran’s Day. I didn’t have to work that day, so it was a perfect opportunity for me to be able to chaperone. We headed out to one of our favorite spots to visit in the fall — Green Meadows Petting Farm.

img_0313

This trip was Liam’s very 1st time holding the baby chick by himself. He was super excited. I got to hang out with all boys in his class. They were a fun group & definitely kept me on my toes all day 😉

img_0275

We couldn’t have asked for better weather & the farm was beautiful! Overall, it was a great field trip with his school ❤

img_0290

img_0276

img_0282

Call me crazy, but afterwards, that same day of the field trip…..even though I was exhausted….I toted us over to the Millennia Mall for pictures with Santa. I LOVE the setup & the Santa there is the best & {even though it seems super early} going around Veteran’s Day is honestly the only way to avoid crazy long lines. Sooo, yes, some day, Liam will look back and say I was crazy. I’m okay with that 🙂

img_0327

He loved his visit with Santa!! The picture is adorbs ❤ ….I will be posting that soon. Here he is just after he took it.

img_0323

Being silly with mommy while waiting in line!

img_0319

Our latest adventure was out to the Long & Scott’s Corn Maze in Mount Dora.

img_0340

We’ve talked about doing this for a few years, but for one reason or another, it just never worked into our schedule. As much as I try to not overbook us on the weekends at this time of the year….I usually do. LOL! So, yes, this was our very 1st time literally going out & getting lost in a corn maze. It was a different experience for our family of 3, but we made it through. The conversation between us within the maze was pretty hilarious at times! It was also a tad bit warm that day, so it made for the getting lost part a bit more frustrating. I think we were all over it rather quickly.

img_0349

It’s definitely been a busy month for us, but we’ve had a lot of fun!

Until next time, friends….

Looking Back on October

I love this time of year. It’s filled with such fun family activities. Definitely makes the days and weeks fly by. Before November gets away from us, I want to take a moment, and share some snippets of the fall memories we made last month.

candy

We kicked off October with Liam’s Fall Festival at his elementary school. It was still pretty warm out that evening, but we pretended otherwise 😉 ….he thoroughly enjoyed the hayride they had around the field.

2016-10-21_sunrise-fall-festival-1

There was no shortage of bouncy houses for the kiddos. He tried out almost all of them, of course!

2016-10-21_sunrise-fall-festival-7

This one was an obstacle course….

2016-10-21_sunrise-fall-festival-6

Then, there was the jail. It was literally all the rage with the kids, including mine. You could pay to put a friend in jail for a few minutes as a joke {& all money went to the school as a fundraiser}. My little? Well, he just wanted to put himself in jail 😛 ….totally hilarious!

2016-10-21_sunrise-fall-festival-4

2016-10-21_sunrise-fall-festival-3

Later on in the month, we hung out with our regular crowd for our annual Halloween get together. Liam ditched his chosen Grease costume in favor of being Darth Vader for this party.

2016-10-22_bengel-halloween-party-2

That night, I actually put the camera down for a bit & just enjoyed the night. That’s rare for me. This was the only photo I nabbed besides the one of Liam. I’m pretty sure I ate most of that guac….LOL!

2016-10-22_bengel-halloween-party-3

Halloween night was on a Monday this year. For the 1st time, this was an actual school night for us, but we still made it work and had great night of trick-or-treating. We made the rounds with the Bengels in their neck of the woods, and the weather was beautiful! Liam looked fab in his Danny Zuko costume from Grease.

2016-10-31_halloween-3

This year, he was too cute with how he went door to door. In year’s past, he was a little timid and definitely let our friends kiddos, Alli & James (who are a little older), lead the way. This year, he was a trail blazer. He RAN up to the doors and rang the doorbells himself. Many doors, he didn’t even look back to see if the others were caught up to him. Then, he turned and literally RAN away and would yell out to us, “lets go! we have to go get more candy!”. It was adorable!

2016-10-31_halloween-1

Silly kids goofing off 😛 ….Liam was pretending to be a zombie. Lisa told him to smile in the second pic and he laid himself out on the grass….HA!

2016-10-31_halloween-5

2016-10-31_halloween-6

One house made their garage into a haunted house. I think the our ‘big boys’ (aka the hubbies) were more excited for this then the kids.

2016-10-31_halloween-7

Checking out his loot!

2016-10-31_halloween-2

October went by in the blink of an eye, but it was a blast!

HERE is a look back on last year’s fun.

Happy Halloween!

November 2016

Welcome to Kindergarten!

To say that the last few months have flown by is an understatement for sure. I started this post so long ago, and it just kept getting pushed back. We are in a good season of life right now, but it sure is a busy one. A few of our friends told us over the summer….’just wait until Liam starts Kindergarten, your schedules are going to be so crazy.‘ I honestly think I laughed at them….Well, folks, they’re laughing now because they were so right.

It’s November, and the majority of this mama is still in denial that we’re here — Kindergarten. How did we get here already? I still remember dropping him off for his 1st day at daycare ❤

I know this year is going to continue to fly by, so I’ve been trying to soak up the highlights. Here is a little BTS Interview that I did with little man after he got home on his 1st day. The last bit? ….He literally came running up to me when I picked him up & said that! It was a GREAT 1st day 🙂

KindergartenBTS_Interview_8.15.16

We had ‘Meet the Teacher’ on the Friday morning before school started that following Monday. The three of us went together. We found his classroom, met Mrs. Juarez, and dropped off all his classroom supplies. Stephen & I were cracking up because we had assumed we would drop off the bag of supplies we had to buy, but there was actually a page of instructions we had to follow for how to put them away. It was very efficient for the teacher ….but we immediately felt like we were the ones back in school 😉

Liam’s room is a jungle theme & is super cute! He loved exploring & checking it out while we put everything away.

2016-08-12_kindercollage

The night before the 1st day, I got his backpack ready to go. He has a purple folder that goes back & forth between school & home each day. We already had forms from Meet the Teacher that we had to send back. I had picked up a cute Clifford book at Kohls to send as a welcome gift for Mrs. Juarez. This was also her 1st year at Liam’s elementary school.

2016-08-15_1stdayofkinderbook2

Little Dude woke up full of excitement on his first day!! — August 15th

I think I was the nervous one for us…lol! He picked out his own outfit and was ready to go. All smiles ❤

He was just THE cutest!!

2016-08-15_liam1stdaykindergartenfav

We dropped him off for his 1st day. Again, I was anticipating the standard tears & maybe even being scared….I mean, this was the 1st time we were leaving him at a different place in the morning. He had always only ever been at the same daycare. So, when the bell rang and the teacher opened the classroom door, he walked in …there was still only all smiles. He then looked back over his shoulder and waved good-bye to us……THIS.MAMA.LOST.IT

You see, he was fine. He was better than fine. He was great. He felt safe and happy, and I knew we had done our job. And so….I felt relieved and just lost it for a moment. I walked away, so he never saw my tears, but there were a few ❤

2016-08-15_liam1stdaykindergarten6

His 1st week of school was awesome. He brought home the cutest projects that they did during the 1st few days. The Kissing Hand Story is one that helps kiddos who are feeling sad about missing their parents while being away from home. So so cute…..

2016-08-15_edited1stdayofkinderwork

Love it!…

2016-08-15_edited1stdayofkinderwork2

We celebrated the end of a fantastic 1st week of school with our fav….sparklers!!!

2016-08-20_celebrateendof1stweekkindergarten

Right after the beginning of the school year, Liam went in for his 5 year check up with his pediatrician. He grew 3 inches since last year and gained 9 pounds! He had a great & healthy check-up …and for sure, he is keeping us on our toes with the growth spurts. Little man’s gonna be taller than me in no time {not hard to do, I know}….and then, I will cry. LOL!

2016-08-29_5yroldcheckup1

In the middle of September, we got to go back to the his classroom for Open House. It was nice to check in with his teacher & get an update on all that been’s happening, as well as take a peak around the school. Liam was super excited to show us where he sits each day in his room. We also got to see the Mangrove seedlings that his class planted outside with the help of a UCF professor 🙂

We actually do hear from his teacher almost daily, as she emails updates on classroom activity, homework info, etc. That honestly was an aspect I didn’t realize until school started. Everything is SO electronic now. You even log online to add money to his lunch money account. I love it, but I had just not realized it. Things have definitely changed since we were in school!

During the school days, Liam participates in Gym class (PE — Physical Education), Art & Music. For Open House, we also got to visit these room and meet with his teachers for these ‘special’ areas.

Since school starts after we go to work and ends before we get out work, Liam does before/after care with the daycare/summer camp he had attended. So, we don’t actually ever go to the school. We drop him off & he rides the bus. He LOVES riding the bus, and we trust them so it’s a win-win. The times like this night for Open House, then, are nice to be able to catch up with what’s physically happening there. Sometimes, though, it does feel weird to me that I’m not dropping and picking him up from there daily, but it’s just not our routine.

2016-09-15_kindergarten-open-house-002

This note below was in the packet we took home from Open House & I just loved it. Such a thoughtful reminder…..

2016-09-15_ekindergarten-open-house-001

At the end of September, he took his very 1st official school pictures. We’ve done pictures with the daycare the last few years, but these were special. Kindergarten pictures, people! ….There were tons of backgrounds we could select from, but Stephen & I thought this one was cool. When we showed it to him, he said…”how did a castle get behind me?” 🙂

2016-09-29_kindergarten-school-picture

Most recently, at the end of October, it was the end of the 1st grading period, and he received his very 1st report card. At his school, the kiddos don’t receive letter grades until 2nd grade. Thus, his marks are Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory, or W — which is for ‘working on it’, since they are just newbies in school and learning all these skills.

During progress reports in September, he had a few W’s, but mostly all S’s. For his report card, he earned all S’s and one W. We are so proud of how hard he is working, and you really could tell how proud he was of himself, as well. We also think that it helps that he had such an excellent Pre-K program last year that gave him a strong foundation going into this year.

I have to say that it’s really incredible the curriculum that these children learn in Kindergarten now. It is completely different that when Stephen and I were in school. He is learning things that I know we didn’t even begin to touch on until grade school.

They are already teaching him beginning reading skills, math that includes comparisons and less than & greater than signs. They have language arts, science, social studies….my mind is blown away repeatedly by the things he comes home and tells us. He also uses computer programs….we never even let him touch the computer before school began! What we are most grateful for is that he has a love for learning. He truly enjoys school and is excited about what he is learning about.

*************************************

On the day he received his report card, he was also honored with the Principal’s Award for making good choices. He was beyond excited to receive this, and he had his name called out over the loud speaker for the whole school by his principal. So cool!

2016-10-21_principals-award_1st-report-card

We are off to a fantastic start to the school year, and are eager to see what else Kindergarten has in store for this sweet boy ❤

Spooktacular Fun :: Jacksonville Zoo

pumpkin

Happy Halloween! We recently had a great time looking for tricks & treats at Spooktacular at the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens.

img_0081

We headed up their opening weekend & it really was a fantastic time. We went with my dad & stepmom, who also live up in Jax. You can read more on our road trip in my latest post with Orlando Moms Blog HERE.

orlando-to-jax

Over the summer, Liam started watching Grease a lot …like ya know, how kids are when they hone in on a movie or show. It becomes an obsession. It was definitely like that for us with this movie. It’s a classic & we were pleasantly surprised he became so fond of it. When we acquired a bag of hand-me-down clothes recently from a friend for him, there was this black leather jacket in it. Little man immediately grabbed it out and said, this is Danny’s jacket!!! {a.k.a. Danny Zuko} ….He then declared that he was going to be Danny for Halloween, and it stuck. A few more miscellaneous items later & the transformation was complete ❤

Ladies & Gentleman, let me present ….Danny Zuko

img_0079

The entire gardens were decorated for Halloween. It was impressive to see the amount of pumpkins that were carved! This scarecrow was a real person 🙂 …Liam was not too sure of them. We tried to get him to take a picture with it, but that was a no go. LOL!

img_0090

Several different themes were displayed throughout the park, and were definitely from movies we all know & love. First up was The Wizard of Oz!

LOVE THIS! Catching up with all the gang ❤

This event was event was at night, so almost of the animals were asleep. Only the nocturnal animals were out.  Totally ok & understandable. We did, however, get to see some of our favs, still. The giraffes were hanging out when we 1st got arrived. The baby’s are adorable!

Also snuck a peak at Mr. Elephant 🙂

Pink Bash is produced by Orlando Sentinel Media Group. A portion of the event proceeds benefits Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation, a local breast cancer foundation formed in Central Florida to provide support directly to Central Floridians. Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation was formed in 2007 just a year after Robin and Marty lost their mom, Libby Maynard, to Stage IV Breast Cancer. Libby was full of fun, faith and courage. The organization hopes to embody her spirit through the foundation by being secure enough to be vulnerable, strong enough to be gentle, wise enough to be humble and powerful enough to serve others.  The mission of Libby’s Legacy is to provide comprehensive breast health care to the underserved Central Florida community through education, mammograms, follow up diagnostics and Hope Coaches on the journey from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. Thankful Through the Storm

This last week has been an emotional one for us here in the sunshine state. Early last week, we started watching the news diligently and following along to see where our 1st hurricane in 12 years hit would along our east coast — Hurricane Matthew.

By Wednesday morning, as I participated with Liam in National Walk to School Day, I knew it was just a matter of time before we all received news of school closures & preparations for the storm to come. Sure enough, we received word late that morning that both the county schools and the university where I work were both closed down Thursday & Friday. This was real & it was time to get prepared.

The last time a major storm affected our area here in Central Florida, Stephen & I were not yet homeowners OR parents. I have to be honest that preparing for this storm AND waiting for it to come felt VERY different this time around. I had a lot of nervous energy on Thursday. I just kept cleaning & doing laundry. I had to keep busy. I also took Liam to Publix….He was hilarious, as he kept yelling out, ‘you were right Mommy, the shelves are empy!!’  — I had told him that the store might look different because many people were buying food & water to prepare for the storm 🙂

We prepped as best we could in the time we had. All of our patio and front yard stuff got piled into the garage, along with our stockpile of water. Again, since we hadn’t been through a storm while in the house before, we kinda felt like we were winging this a bit.

Tub full of water….always a precaution. We did remember that from Charlie.

We went to sleep (well, as much as we could, anyhow) on Thursday night knowing that the winds were picking up and Matthew would be moving through by early morning.

We dozed off and literally woke up to answered prayer ❤ ….the storm veered to the East about 10 miles, and it was just enough to keep the eye & all the worst winds off shore from our area. We had some high winds & gusts and a good amount of rain still throughout the day, but nothing overwhelming. So, so thankful & blessed!!

We were so relieved to see that our family & friends here in Florida were all okay, as well. Especially Stephen’s family in the Vero Beach area, as they were much closer to Matthew’s impact. We were also worried about my dad’s house up in Jax, but they fared well, too.  Both of our mom’s are also here in FL & they are also doing well! Prayers for all those still recovering & waiting for power to be restored. St. Augustine is one of our favorite places to visit, and they were hit very hard 😦

On Saturday, we all went outside, as a family, and began the clean up process. Luckily, the debris wasn’t overwhelming for us. It was nice to get it picked up, and as we were outside, we saw many of our neighbors also out cleaning up their yards, too. Liam enjoyed being a helper….Timber, as well! What a difference a day makes in the weather, right?!?!

Being cooped up in the house for a few days did give me a chance to finally finish up our Halloween decorations! Liam & I also baked up some yummy Halloween cookies 🙂

Once we were out & about, we took a trip to the Orlando Science Center to check out their new traveling exhibit — TOYTOPIA. It was so cool to see so many of the toys that Stephen & I played with as kids. Liam enjoyed the Toy Story display and the awesome model trains that was both Lego & electric!

Introducing Little Man to a little nostalgia from the movie, BIG! 🙂

We closed our weekend out with a visit to one of our local pumpkin patches …that definitely always brings all the feels of fall! ❤

Until next time, friends!
