We recently had an afternoon of family FUN as we enjoyed Disney On Ice presents Follow Your Heart at the Amway Center downtown.
We are always pumped to take a trip down to the Amway Center. Being downtown is just fun, in general, as we don’t frequent it often, and we love to check out the venue that the Orlando Magic calls home 🙂
As soon as we stepped off of the escalator, these yummy sights & smells surrounded us. Liam chose the cotton candy & crown combo 🙂
The show started off with a skating rendition of a hockey game to incorporate elements of Inside Out and the theme of Following Your Heart and doing your best. Riley made her appearance throughout the game and all the skaters were awesome! Liam LOVED it!
And, of course, Mickey & the gang were there, too ❤
It was very cool to see our favorite friends from Inside Out. Liam’s eyes definitely lit up when they came out!
I’m pretty sure I said it last year, but my personal fav is Beauty & the Beast. I loved this rendition of ‘Be Our Guest’! Super excited for the live action movie next spring!!
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice…we are big fans of watching this on Fantasia so it was awesome to see this on the ice.
I was beyond thrilled to see Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs as a part of this year’s show!! Liam hasn’t see this movie yet, so it’s definitely added to our list …LOVE this one ❤
Finding Dory ….so fun & such a great movie. We can’t wait to add this to our home collection.
Toy Story is one of our family’s all time favorites and the performance they did for the show was SO good!
It was fantastic to see our favs Rex & Hamm come skating out….Liam jumped out of his seat for that!
All the Disney Princesses came out throughout the show and did fantastic performances. Ariel from the Little Mermaid’s performance, though, was one that we couldn’t take our eyes off….
What a way to close out the show….Frozen!
Let It Go!!! ❤
FINALE!!
Smiles All Around!!
Such a great afternoon with my boys! Always wonderful memories made with Disney, and of course, little man did not take this crown off all day! Thank you to Feld Entertainment for this amazing opportunity for my family!

I mentioned in my previous post that through the craziness that is life, I’ve gone on a hiatus from blogging, so let’s try to catch up! We’ve definitely been busy these last few months….so, here are some highlights:
At the beginning of March, Liam went on his very 1st field trip! It was to the movies with his class at Pre-K, and they saw Zootopia. He had a blast, but I have to tell you that his most favorite part of the entire experience was riding the school bus! The director took this pic of him before they left. She said his face lit up when they got on the bus & started pulling away. It was all he could talk about when I picked him up. They could have just drove around the block & he would have been thrilled. LOL! He has seen the daycare’s school bus for the last few years each day, and has always asked when he would get to ride it. So, you see, this was a BIG deal!
Easter came early for us this year. It fell during the last weekend of March. We really love the Easter Bunny in Casa de Murphy & he brought lots of fun goodies for wee-man again this year ❤
Liam woke up before the sun came up….although at bedtime, he cautiously asked if EB would be gone before he got up. He loves him but he does not want to see that gigantic guy….lol! Can’t really blame him for that…I think the mall EB’s have left an impression on him. However, all of that was forgotten when he woke up, and he was stoked as he went through his basket & checked everything out.
The EB always hides eggs in the front yard & this year was no different. However, there was no deterring this 4 year old’s excitement. So…..we hunted eggs in the dark (before 7 a.m.) WITH a flash light. It was awesome!
I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I wanted our little family to get back into church, as well as give this essential foundation to Liam, so he could build his own relationship with the Lord. I’m very happy to say that we found a wonderful church home early this year & it’s just been a blessing for us all. Service on Easter Sunday was great!
Easter weekend was jammed packed for us! It also brought on Stephen’s BIG 40th Birthday! We always share Liam’s milestones, but this was definitely one for Daddy 😉
Since his big day fell on a Friday, we had a yummy dinner out at Kobe with friends.
The next day, we celebrated with our little guy ❤
The festivities continued right after the weekend, as my mom flew in from North Carolina for a few days. Liam was so excited to see his Grammy, as we hadn’t visited with her since she moved up there last summer. It was a great time with her 🙂
While she was down here, we spent the afternoon at Disney Springs. I hadn’t been out there in forever, and was really impressed with all the renovations & changes. We will definitely be back, again, soon!
So fun that there are a few rides for the littles there now, too!
In April, I had the pleasure of working alongside my fellow Orlando Moms Blog mamas for Bloom 2016. It was a great time & a huge success.
Great information was shared for both new & expectant moms by several guests in our local community. We gathered at a local coffee shop downtown — Credo.
City Moms Blog Network gave us these fab swag bags — LOVE THEM ❤
Honored to be part of this team…..
Are ya still with me? 🙂 ….We’re almost caught up!
At the beginning of this month {May}, we met up with our FABULOUS swim instructor, Ms. Katie Mosley from SwimSproutfor our spring swim refresher lessons for Mr. Liam. If you’ve been following along with us over the last few years, then you know we’ve been swimming with them & Liam has been doing amazingly well in the water. Here’s a look back HERE and HERE. This season was no different, except that it will most likely be our last refresher with Ms. Katie, as Liam has been doing so well, and is now at a point with his muscle memory, that he is retaining his skill. So proud of him!
He has quickly gone from his basic swim-float-swim to jumping off the side of the pool & also diving for rings. We can already tell that this summer is going to be super fun poolside!
Last, but certainly, not least, is an impromptu dance performance little man graced us with after dinner over the weekend. I have laughed every time I have watched this. He loves to dance & is SO good at it. Love this kid!! I posted a snippet of this on IG & FB, but this is the full-length feature 🙂 ….Enjoy!!
Seriously, how much fun was Halloween on a Saturday night?!?! I vote to have it on a weekend every year!
We kicked off the weekend with dinner on Friday night at IHOP. Liam got a FREE spooky pancake. So fun!
When we got home there was a special delivery from Papa G & G-Ma –> a Halloween tin of yummy flavored popcorn!
On Saturday, the 1st thing Liam said was: “it’s Trick or Treat day!!!” ….he could barely contain his excitement 😉
We continued our annual tradition of hanging out & eating dinner with our good friends & walking their neighborhood. While Liam dressed up in a few of his different superhero hero costumes in the various holiday events we attended throughout the month, he had selected Baymax from Disney’s Big Hero 6 movie as his trick-or-treat outfit. He adores that movie! ❤ …I mean, it’s a Disney’s superhero movie, afterall, right?!?! 😉 ….It was hilarious because some of the people handing out candy did not know his costume & asked him if he was an Avenger. He, very matter-of-factly, stated: “No, I am Baymax”. Then, he would turn around and yell down the driveway, “They thought I was an Avenger!!!”
Halloween is the look of mischief…..
Daddy did some cool modifications to the wings to get them to stick out and not be flopping around. We glued tongue depressors to the inside flaps & then, he painted them red. The mask also fit a bit tight & squished his nose. Stephen added a few foam pieces (such a thoughtful daddy!)….however, Liam still didn’t keep it on most of the night. Ya know, it’s still pretty hot & sticky here in FL 😉
Let the fun begin!
Liam was so polite at every house. He said, “trick-or-treat” and then, “thank you” after getting his candy. Then, to each person, I also heard him say, “Happy Halloween!” ….my heart melted! We stayed out for about 2 1/2 hours. We even brought our wagon because we thought he would get tired and need a rest, but no, he trucked along & kept up the whole time. Heck, he even pulled the wagon (by his request) toward the end. The only thing he did ask for was to dump his candy bag and “start over” because his little bag was getting too heavy. This mama had thought about that ahead of time, so I did bring a bigger bag….lol!
He ended up with quite the haul of candy by the time we got done. Here he is — tired, hot & sweaty…but so proud of his little stash 🙂
It was a great weekend! We were a tired little family when all was said & done, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. When Liam woke up on Sunday morning, he asked if it was still Halloween. I told him, no, it was now November. Then, he asked if was Christmas. I said no again. Little dude proceeded to cry….I felt so bad! Once I explained that Thanksgiving was next & reminded him what that meant, he was ok. Being a 4 year old is tough work sometimes 😉
Here’s a look back on the fun from the last few years:
2012 (back before the blog …check out this adorbs pic). This was Liam’s 1st time trick-or-treating!! We just pushed him right up to the doors. Haha! …but he held his little bucket!
2011 (also,back before the blog …Baby’s 1st Halloween!!)
Last Friday, we headed to the Amway Center for a night of family fun. Clearly, someone was pretty pumped about that….
We were super excited to be able to attend the VERY FIRST showing EVER of Disney On Ice’s new show — 100 YEARS OF MAGIC 🙂
It was a fantastic event & definite fun for the whole family. Be sure to check their schedule here to see if the show is coming to a city near you soon! Also check out my previous post here to catch up on a little bit of background for the show.
The show opened with our classic & all-time favs — Mickey, Minnie, Donald & Goofie ❤
I love the Disney On Ice shows because they remind me of the Ice Capades shows that I used to watch as a child. Having the opportunity to share these same kinds of memories with my little one is pretty special to me.
Various Disney & Pixar movies were incorporated throughout the show. Obviously, Frozen made an appearance. I am not kidding when I tell you that the ENTIRE Amway Center sang along to “Let It Go”…..
Aladdin has always been one of my favs ….<3 you Genie!
Liam was over the moon to see the gang from Toy Story 🙂 ….I didn’t get a good picture but before these guys came out, the army men did a little number that was awesome!
Lion King! …..this one will always hold a special place for us, as that was the theme of Liam’s nursery 🙂
All the kiddos (and adults, too….let’s not deny it, peeps) were thrilled to see the Disney Princesses skate out onto the ice. Definitely one of the more magical moments!
Here’s a peak of the show’s finale …..ended just as good as it began!
Such a great family night! We left with our hands full (popcorn, cotton candy, & a sword….lol!) and our hearts full of wonderful memories. Thank you to Feld Entertainment for this amazing opportunity for my family!
Until next time, friends!

Long weekends are so nice for taking some family time to rest & relax. It was extra nice over this weekend, as we celebrated the Labor Day holiday, and (in what has become our American tradition) said an unofficial good-bye to summer. However, we all know that the temps here in FL will not be dying down anytime soon — so pool-time & flip flops remain a staple around here for us 😉
We kicked off our weekend with a little Disney On Ice on Friday evening.
It was their BRAND NEW 100 Years of Magic show, and it actually was the very 1st showing of it. More to come about the entire show later this week with lots more pics!! It was fantastic!
Saturday morning, we headed to MyGym for Liam’s class. We’ve actually decided to take a break for the fall, as we have a busy schedule ahead of us, but he absolutely LOVES this place. We only have a few weeks left. I’ll have a post about our fun times with them soon. Ms. Dana is amazing ❤
Sunday morning, we packed our bags & hit the road to Jacksonville. My dad & step-mom call Jax home & it had been far too long since we all had seen one another. A road trip with an older pup and a 4 year old was definitely interesting….even if it was just for a few hours. Let’s just say we didn’t make it there without stopping 😉
No worries here if little man would be leery of his Papa G since he hadn’t seen him in a while. The two became as thick as thieves, and Liam had a ball with him. He followed him around and wanted to help him with everything he did. Even watering the plants outside. It was so cute ❤
My step-mom (G-ma to little man) broke out their ice cream maker on Sunday night & Liam was in heaven.
Don’t turn your back on a 4 year old with a spoon & an open container of cool whip….LOL!!!
On Monday, we headed out to the beach for a bit. I am not kidding when I tell you that Liam has been asking to go to the beach ALL.SUMMER.LONG. — We definitely have to do a better job of taking more beach trips next summer. This kid cannot get enough of it.
I love this shot I snapped really quick. Stephen & I didn’t even have our shoes off yet, and he was already off running toward the water with my dad 🙂
Most of the time in Jax, if you were looking for Liam, this is where you found him….in the pool. He even called himself a little fish. He thought it was THE GREATEST thing ever that he got to be in the ocean water and the pool water in the SAME DAY 🙂
Can’t forget the fur baby. He, of course, came along for the trip. He especially loves Papa G & G-Ma’s house because of the doggy doors & the free reign to go in and out all day long (a luxury he doesn’t get at home 😉 )
Liam said Timber had a good time with his Aunt & Uncle dog …haha! Love that! …Stephen & I said he was more on a “food-cation” than a vacation. That was all he did this weekend — eat & beg!
Before we loaded up to head home, I made everyone pose for a few pics….
Such an enjoyable weekend ❤ ….hope you had a lovely one, too!

On Sunday, we spent the day at the Magic Kingdom. When we stopped at the ticket booth to get our parking pass, the attendant smiled & said, “Have a Magical Day!” — Ya know what? Not to sound totally cliche, but…We really did! It was Liam’s 3rd trip to the park & it was an awesome day. The park wasn’t terribly crowded. For being an {almost} Florida summer day, the weather was great… the storms held off just enough to give a nice breeze & the sun stayed behind the clouds most of the day. We also got to ride all the rides we set out to go on at the beginning of the day. HUGE thanks to my mom & her hubby for the comp tickets they shared with us …can’t beat that! 🙂
Our 1st ride of the day was ‘Peter Pan’s Flight’ — this was the 1st time both Liam & I got to ride this one. We all loved it!
Not the greatest pic, but tried to grab a quick selfie before we got off our boat.
All little man could talk about was wanting to ride the tea cups. So funny because he had never been on them before 😉 …he was really excited to go on this one!
This face says it ALL!!!
“I wish I could ride Dumbo” — that’s his way of saying he wants to do something or have something. He wishes for it ❤
Next stop the classic carousel….
He told me to ride next to him 🙂
During our last visit to the park, Liam kept asking to see Anna & Elsa from Frozen. All the Disney princesses are now in the Princess Fairytale Hall. If you aren’t familiar, it’s a very long wait & with nothing fun to look at or amuse yourself with, as in other rides {sorry, not sorry, Disney!}. Since we didn’t do it last time around, we couldn’t say no this time. The look on his face was SO worth the wait…..
He was most excited to meet Anna. She was the BEST with him & very interactive. It was awesome!
Being playful & trying to get him to not be so shy — completely adorable!
After we wrapped up meeting the princesses, he wanted to ride on the People Mover. Well, you can imagine the excitement when we stumbled upon Buzz Lightyear hanging out in Tomorrowland! 🙂
Little dude normally has never been a fan of any characters in costume, so we were beyond thrilled that he was up for this meet & greet. He LOVES Toy Story!
To top off an already incredibly fun day, we caught the end of the Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party Parade — front & center ….little dude’s tired eyes were wide open once again even as we walked through the gates at the end of Main Street & waved good-bye to the Magic Kingdom ….
Good times continued during our winter break with our 2nd trip to the Magic Kingdom with little man. It, again, had been almost a year & a half since our 1st trip there {for his 2nd birthday celebration}. Just like with Legoland earlier in the week, he honestly didn’t remember being there before, so it was fun to re-introduce the park to him. This age is SO MUCH different than 2 years old, so it was a whole different experience, for us, as well.
We knew the park would still be crowded for holidays, and since I had never seen the Electrical Parade before, we decided to head out later than normal…..so, we didn’t get out to the gates till about 4, but the weather was gorgeous! Special thanks to my mom & her hubby for getting us tickets from their friend, who is a cast member….nothing beats that!
One of the main points of our plan for visiting the Magic Kingdom that weekend was to catch their Christmas decorations before they took them down. We had actually never been to Disney to see them before….so this was a nice “1st” experience for all of us! In true Disney magic, they really do the park up extra fancy ❤
Over in the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland is The Barnstormer ride. This is a junior roller coaster that guests must be 35 in. or taller to ride and just has small drops. We asked him, and Liam wanted to ride it….so, he did with Daddy 🙂 ….his 1st roller coaster experience!! Oh my goodness!!
In true fashion, they sat in the back car….Liam enjoyed it, but he did tell me afterwards, that he was “alittle bit scared” ❤
Dumbo was a fav ride this time around, again. He rode with me last visit….so Daddy got a turn this time 😉
Such cuteness…..
This was on The Magic Carpets of Aladdin in Adventureland ….he loved this ride! The flash caught his eye in this pic, so he looks a bit sleepy 😉
Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland ….he enjoyed this one, but wasn’t crazy about the little drop that you feel while in the dark on the boat ride. He has totally been singing the ‘Yo Ho‘ song since that night, though….hysterical!!
Cinderella’s Castle was decorated & lit up with a Frozen theme for the holiday’s ….absolutely beautiful!
There were a few moments that I wasn’t sure we would make it to the start of this, but YES….we held out till the 10:15 pm start of the Electrical Parade (wow, I felt old but man, that was late for us….lol!!) …poor little dude, was PASSED.OUT.COLD in his stroller by the time everything began. There literally was no waking him up….he wanted no part of it. I felt so bad, but he did wake up towards the end and managed to catch a few of the floats 🙂
I know we kept Liam out WAY past his bedtime, but it was such a pretty show. Really glad to have finally seen this!
….And, here we all were on the tram back to the car at 12 AM ….what a little trooper ❤
Here are a few pics we took in front of the castle! …this 1st one is super cute — Tink is super-imposed in our hands 😉
All in all, it was truly a MAGICAL DAY…and night ❤ ❤
